Day-to-day decisions around running a small business can be very complicated — new marketing options, economic shifts and more. It’s no wonder National Small Business Week is increasingly becoming a valuable resource that small businesses shouldn’t ignore.
What started out as a simple proclamation by the President of the United States 50 years ago is now growing into a week of national events with opportunities for entrepreneurs and small businesses to network and learn from leaders and industry experts. This year’s National Small Business Week is June 17 – 21 with events in Seattle, Dallas, St. Louis, Pittsburgh and Washington D.C. and SuperMedia is proud to co-sponsor with the Small Business Administration (SBA).
Each event will feature guest speakers and breakout sessions covering a variety of topics such as:
- Affordable Care Act 101
- Finding Capital for your Business
- Protecting your Business Against Cyber Security Threats
- Wildly Successful Social Media for Small Business
- How to Sell Products Online
- How to Get a Loan for your Business
Other events are currently being held around the country to honor small businesses. To see if there is one in your area, visit the local events map and select a map pin for more details.
If you cannot attend in person, some topics will be covered via Google+ Hangouts. Visit the Small Business Administration’s National Small Business Week site for more details on the events, the Hangouts, networking opportunities and how to register. All events are free except for the event in Washington D.C. featuring the awards ceremony that will recognize state and national business persons of the year.
